I have 2 P! Actually 5 P's

I hear people say, “I have tried everything!” and I understand where they are coming from. I thought I had tried everything when I was trying to get back into shape. It’s so frustrating to still be in the same place after a month of trying. But then I got smart. Instead of trying every fad that came to mind and winging it, I decided to put some military training to use. No, I’m not talking about marching 12 miles with 50 pounds on my back or climbing ropes. I’m talking about one of the military’s greatest tools for reaching high standards. I started planning.

Planning your steps gives you insight towards your starting point and foresight into your expecting result. Once you have those you can create details of how to proceed and set up checkpoints along the way. Journaling along the way would be really beneficial as well. It gives you a way to look back and see what worked and what didn’t. It’s important to work smart. Otherwise, you risk getting frustrated and quitting. Teams don’t win championships by just showing up and winging it. They plan, execute, assess and adjust as necessary. That’s what I do and I’m in better shape now than I was 10 years ago. Not because I worked harder, but because I worked smarter. I always gave 100%, but now its 100% going in the right direction.

Going fast backwards doesn’t help you win the race.

Here are my 5 P’s
